On October 7, 2015, under the auspices of Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC), the Office of Defense Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy announced a scholarship to a U.S. service academy for international students. It is a great honor for Cambodia to be one of the nominated countries.
The U.S. Military Academy Scholarship is a full scholarship for four years, with challenging intellectual, military, and physical demands to promote the development of character and leadership. The candidate has to be between the ages of 17 to 22 on July 1st, 2016. In addition, he or she must have strong English proficiency (a minimum TOEFL score of 94 and a high score on the Standardized Admission Test (SAT)), and pass the Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA) before he or she is admitted to apply for the scholarship.
There are four U.S. service academies. Students can choose either to study at the US Military Academy (West Point), the US Naval Academy (Annapolis), the Air Force Academy, or the Coast Guard Academy; however, students must come back to Cambodia with a willingness to serve in the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
