On May 25, 2015, two students from different study disciplines received scholarship awards from Yonezawa Rotary Club, Japan.

The awards have a value of 300 U.S dollars each. Ms. Khat Leakhena, in her second year of study in International Relations, said the grant was priceless to her. “I will use this money to pursue my study and assure the university and the grantor that I will repay the support they have shown me,” said Ms. Leakhena at last.

Yonezawa Rotary Club has cooperated with PUC since 2008 to sponsor a maximum of 4 students every year. 24 students have received grants totaling $7,200. Some of them have graduated and work in prominent companies. Others have pursued their studies in the United States and Korea, among other countries.

In reply to the support and kindness from the university and the club, Mr. Phon Chandararaksmey said he will commit to study hard and work to become a good son, a good student, and a good citizen for the nation. “I am always grateful to PUC for its high standards that have provided me with a good education and given me the chance to win this scholarship from the good Japanese club. I am sure to be a good person and will work to develop society in the future,” Mr. Raksmey noted in his speech.
