MOU signing between RWI and PUC

“MOU signing was a very long discussion. Now here comes the result.” Said Prof. Kong Phallack, Dean, Faculty of Law and Public Affairs.

On September 13, 2013. PUC singed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI), Sweden. The result of the signing will be benefit to PUC students who is willing to pursue their graduate studies in Sweden.

“It is a great honor that we have RWI for their granted scholarship”, stated Dr. Chea San Chanthan, PUC Chancellor. It is noted that PUC has had many MOU signings between the partnered university; especially China and The United States; however, most of the signing is just for exchange program or students have to find support after their acceptance.

The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law is an independent academic institution, founded in 1984 at the Law Faculty at Lund University in Sweden. The Institute cooperates with a variety of Swedish and international partners. In addition to the close cooperation with Lund University, the Institute maintains relations with other academic institutions, international organisations, government agencies and civil society organisations in different parts of the world.

The RWI is mainly project funded and the main part of the funding comes from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The Institute also receives funding from other funding partners such as the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the European Commission, the Swedish Research Council, as well as from some private foundations, such as the Söderberg Foundations and the Justa Gardi Foundation.
